Thermally broken aluminium for energy-efficient windows

Thermally broken aluminium for energy-efficient windows

Thermally broken aluminium windows insulate your home for guaranteed comfort and lower energy use.

Energy savings all year round

An energy-efficient home reaches the temperature you want faster and holds it longer, and that only happens when it is properly insulated. There are many ways to improve insulation, but windows and doors are essential to a home's energy performance and comfort in every season. In many buildings they are the weak points that are poorly insulated and drive up energy use.

Spring

Winter and spring rain leave windows and shutters dirty. Aluminium makes the famous spring clean easy.

Summer

With the wrong windows you can spend a lot on cooling. The thermal break keeps stifling heat out of the house.

Autumn

Autumn wind and rain bring cold draughts, water and damp indoors. Ponzio's high performance keeps them out.

Winter

Keep the heat inside with thermal-break windows. The warmth stays in, the cold stays out, and your wallet thanks you.

Your ally

For an insulated, greener and less expensive home, Ponzio aluminium windows are the ideal choice. Insulation is excellent in both the warmest and the coldest months, with guaranteed energy savings all year. Ponzio windows and doors insulate rooms and keep the indoor temperature in, thanks to thermal-break technology: high energy performance and low thermal transmittance form a barrier against heat exchange between inside and outside. Rooms stay at a steady temperature, with real savings on your bills and benefits for the environment.

Thermal break in aluminium windows

All Ponzio windows and doors use thermal-break technology, a construction technique that guarantees very high standards of insulation and energy efficiency. It was developed to stop the heat loss caused by thermal conductivity, which every metal has. Old, non-insulated aluminium windows were notorious for poor insulation: instead of a barrier they formed a real “thermal bridge” carrying heat out of the home and back in. Thermally broken aluminium windows keep the indoor temperature steady, keeping out the cold in winter and the heat in summer.

How it works

A thermal break interrupts the conductivity of an aluminium window by breaking the continuity of the material, separating the inner profile from the outer one with insulating material. As the section shows, the profile contains two polyamide cores that join the two sides mechanically while cutting off the flow of heat. This gives the aluminium frame insulating properties it never had before, reaching very low transmittance values. Low-emissivity insulating glass, filled with air or argon, raises the insulation further.
